United Way of Greater Atlanta envisions a community where families have access to
secure housing and basic needs that are equitable, inclusive, and affordable. 211 is an
integral part of our Economic Stability investment priority, addressing the basic needs
of our community by partnering with vetted nonprofit partners and serving as a
resource and referral center, which directly aids in improving the well-being of children
and families in our region. 211 has an inclusion/exclusion policy and process that
ensures the referrals we make for vulnerable populations are safe and appropriate.
211 serves as a barometer of the needs of metro Atlanta residents. Our data plays a
crucial role in helping to inform local and state agencies, policymakers, and legislators’
perspectives on the needs of Metro Atlanta residents. We also track gaps in resources
or unmet needs, which is critical to the decision-making of funders and the equitable
allocation of resources in the metro Atlanta community.
